A shared secret in life. 👉Meet God in the morning, and that is all you need to get through the day!

In this post we will breakdown Chapter 14 - Book of John

Chapter 14 encapsulates themes of comfort, the promise of the Holy Spirit, the importance of love and obedience, and the assurance of Jesus' presence, providing a profound foundation for the faith of His followers.

1. Assurance of Jesus' Departure (Verses 1-4)

Jesus comforts His disciples, encouraging them not to be troubled. He speaks of going to prepare a place for them in His Father’s house, emphasizing the promise of eternal life and the way to follow Him.

2. The Way, the Truth, and the Life (Verses 5-7)

Thomas expresses confusion about knowing the way to where Jesus is going. Jesus responds by declaring Himself as the way, the truth, and the life, affirming that no one comes to the Father except through Him.

3. Knowledge of the Father (Verses 8-11)

Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father. Jesus explains that seeing Him is seeing the Father, highlighting His unity with the Father and encouraging belief in Him and His works.

4. Promise of Greater Works (Verses 12-14)

Jesus assures His disciples that those who believe in Him will do the works He has been doing, and even greater things, as He goes to the Father. He promises to answer their prayers in His name.

5. The Promise of the Holy Spirit (Verses 15-17)

Jesus instructs His followers to keep His commandments. He promises to ask the Father to send the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who will be with them forever and guide them into all truth.

6. Assurance of His Presence (Verses 18-20)

Jesus reassures His disciples that He will not leave them as orphans; He will come to them. He speaks of a time when they will realize He is in the Father, they are in Him, and He is in them.

7. Love and Obedience (Verses 21-24)

Jesus emphasizes that those who love Him will obey His teachings. He reiterates that love is demonstrated through obedience to His commands, and He will love those who do so.

8. The Role of the Holy Spirit (Verses 25-27)

Jesus explains that the Holy Spirit will teach them all things and remind them of everything He has said. He offers peace, a peace that the world cannot give, encouraging them not to be troubled or afraid.

9. Jesus' Return and the World’s Reaction (Verses 28-31)

Jesus tells His disciples that they should rejoice because He is going to the Father. He acknowledges that the ruler of this world is coming, but He has no hold on Him, emphasizing His obedience to the Father’s command.

Thank you Lord for your gift of the Holy Spirit.
